The name was traditionally used to describe a Sheffield ‘Master Craftsman’ working by himself, particularly in the cutlery industry.

Having been originally taught by a Sheffield Tray Maker, ‘borrowing’ the name fulfils a desire to retain a link with Sheffield, and also to keep the Term alive.
